1080p projector hot rod

At the time it was a great unit - Pioneer Elite Kuro Pro FPJ1. I would like to hot rod it so that it is able to display 4k resolutions as well as upscale content going into it. Lumens and constant ratios would be simple hacks but this is to prove of concept. Can someone assist?
