Can you advise me whether this unit can be treated as a plug and play device? Can I sequentially load images from a PC or laptop onto the DMD for display?

Welcome to the DLP Forums!

This device does have a GUI which can be used to load images to the DMD for display, so in that sense it is plug and play.

However, please be aware that this EVM does not come with any optics, so you'll need to have your own optical engine. We have a list of design network partners that you can consult for some help: www.ti.com/.../solutions-services.page

One option to get optical solution for LightCrafter6500 is STAR-065 optics and STAR-065 EVM from ViALUX company.
