Greetings,

Would it be possible to add an sd card module to the lcr4500?

I would prefer to increase the memory so that the patterns are uploaded and they are triggered by a signal.

An SD card with 2gb would be awesome!

    Hi William,

    I am not aware of anyone modifying the LCr4500 to add an SD card. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be done. I'll point you to the reference design which includes the schematics for the LCr4500 if you'd like to take a look into making some modifications.

    You may also want to take a look at some of our third parties and their offerings. They might have some solutions which feature and SD card. I'm specifically thinking of Wintech, as they make similar modules to the LCr4500.

    I'd also like to add that typically accessing patterns from an SD card (as is frequently asked about with regards to the Lightcrafter 3000) causes a pretty severe limitation to speed in displaying the patterns. Depending on how fast you'd like to show your patterns, this may be an issue.

    After a little more digging, I just wanted to let you know that the DLPC350 doesn't support an SD card interface directly. To make this work, you'll have to use an external processor to support the SD card.
