DMD chip needed - 0.65inch 1080P DC2 DMD-8 chip

I have a Optoma HD20 (DLP Projection Display) which uses TI DMD chip "0.65inch 1080P DC2 DMD-8 chip" which has optoma P/N 48.8EG01G001. This part is not available with the product vendor Optoma. Please advise where can I find the model/details of the Texas Instrument DMD chip number and where can I buy them so that I can replace it my self.

  • Welcome to the DLP Forums - thanks for your question. Can I ask why you believe that the DLP chip is the issue and not some other piece of hardware? Typically the DMDs themselves are pretty robust.

The part you are looking for is not supplied as a catalog part; OEMs integrate those chips into their products. If you've contacted Optoma and they are unable to supply the part to you, then I'm not sure we'll be able to help you. Let me ask some colleagues and see what I can learn.

    Thanks,
    Paul
  • I got this reply from Optoma when inquired about them.

Unfortunately, because the HD20 is discontinued we are out of stock for that part. Will provide the DMD chip information below....

    HD20
    P/N:48.8EG01G001
    DMD 0.65" 1080P 2xLVDS DC2 TYPE A 1910-6127 WITH SINGLE DDP3021 TI

So the Texas Instruments Chip model is "DDP3021 TI" ? Can you advise where I can find this part for purchase ?

    thanks in advance.
  • Unfortunately there is no way for you to be able to purchase this part. Even if you were, it is likely to be much more expensive than just simply replacing the projector.

If you're looking to use the DMD for a project that you're working on, please share some more details - we have many evaluation kits which might be able to help you.

    Thanks,
    Paul
