1. Is it possible to use only one DLPC3439 control chip to drive DLP4710 and has the same 1920X1080 resulotion? The reference design has two DLPC3439 chips.

2. can you share the DLP4710EVM schematic and PCB source file with me?

3. can you share the source code for MSP430 and DLPC3439?

Thank you for your interest in our DLP Technology.

Q1: No, it is necessary to have two DLPC3439 with the DLP4710 DMD. One DLPC3439 can not drive the DLP4710 DMD.

For Q2, the Schematic and Layout is in PDF format, can you send me the source files so that i can make changes on it and then make my customized driver board?

For Q3, I found the source code for MSP430, but i can't find the source code for DLPC3439. can you send me the source code for it?

Hello Samtim,
I will send you the .dsn file for the schematic to the email you have provided. The .brd file can be downloaded from the link I provided earlier.

TI can only provide the .img file for the DLPC3439. I can provide it or you can back-up the .img file from the DLP LightCrafter 4710 EVM. We don't share the source code.

Thank you very much for your help.

I have another question: Is there other way to upload the .img file onto the DLPC3439 without USB? As I would like to get rid of the USB components on my customized board to save the cost.

Hello Samtim,

You can program the flash device before assembly by using flash download tools like a Cheetah or any other tool. The cypress chip doesn't have to be included in your board design.

Hello Nadine,

I just made my customized 4710 DMD driver board, can you send me the .img file so that i can use a flash programmer to download the .img onto the flash? i am using two 64M bits SPI flash, one for master and one for slave.

Besides, I would like to add audio function on the board in next version, is there any reference design for it?

Hello Samtim,

You can backup the .img file from your DLPDLCR4710EVM. Please use the GUI and click on backup firmware. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The DLPDLCR2010EVM has audio included on the EVM. You can take a look at the schematic and decide if you would like to use this as an audio solution.
