DLP9000 Lightcrafter startup problem

Hello

I am working with a DLP Lightcrafter 9000 EVM. Following the instructions to turn it on for the first time include:

- Plug in the power supply

- wait 5 seconds for it to boot up

- Connect USB cable from device to computer

- Operate through the downloadable GUI

When I plug in the power supply, 2 LEDs come on - D11 and D12 - indicating it is receiving the 12V of power. However, the remaining LEDs do not come on, nor does the mirror display become active and begin its continuous pattern sequence.

Is there a chance the software pre-loaded on the device was not pre-loaded or somehow was erased? How can I fix this issue?

Thanks for your question and welcome to the DLP forums. I've moved your post to the correct forum for Lightcrafter 9000 questions.

Have you tried to connect your Lightcrafter to the GUI? If it can connect to the GUI, you should be able to reload the firmware onto the device which should solve your issue.

You can find the GUI on the Lightcrafter 9000 page: www.ti.com/.../dlplcr9000evm, it's listed as a software bundle.

The Lightcrafter module will not even connect to the GUI. The computer will not recognize a connected device.

When did this EVM get purchased? Have any modifications been made?

This EVM was purchase maybe 2-3 months ago, and has not been modified. It was taken out of the packaging only yesterday and this problem occurred out of the bag. Two were purchased at the same time, one of them operates as expected. The other has this issue.

One long shot - is your power supply 12V with more than 7A capability?

Did you purchase directly from the TI eStore or through a distributor? If it's not the power supply, then I would recommend that you do an RMA with your distributor or with the TI eStore. The TI eStore form can be found here: store.ti.com/contactus.aspx

I purchased the recommended supply: 12V 5A, one for each EVM. The functioning EVM works with both power supplies. The inactive one does not work with either.

I did not purchase through TI eStore. I will fill out an RMA with my distributor.
