LightCrafter only showing black pixels

Hello,

I have a brand new LightCrafter 4500 but when I turn it on, it boots but does not show the LightCrafter logo.
The DMD does not seem to work at all. All the other functions work well.
The red green and blue LEDs work and can be adjusted in brightness.
It also does not show a picture when you provide it with an HDMI video signal.
The projector can be connected to a PC through USB and can be fully controlled with the LightCrafter4500 GUI.
The firmware version is v3.0.0 (DLPR350PROM_v3.0.0.bin) from 30.7.2015

Any idea how I could get it to work?

    Welcome to the DLP forums and thanks for your question. So sorry that you're having trouble with your EVM.

    A couple things to start with:
    1. Confirm that your power supply is correct. Is it capable of providing enough current? 5A should be sufficient.
    2. Reload the FW onto the device. Perhaps it got corrupted.

    If those two things aren't the issue, we can work from there.

    Hi Paul,
    I have a 12 V power supply which provides enough power. I verified that the voltage does not drop when I turn on the projector.
    I successfully flashed the firmware again through USB but still no picture.

    Hi Uwe,

    Thank you for taking those steps and verifying the power supply. A couple more questions:

    *When did you purchase this EVM?
    *Have you ever seen the splash screen since you've had the EVM?
    *Any modifications to the board?

    You say that you're able to tell that the LEDs can be controlled - you're able to get some light output from the unit but no picture?

    Hi Paul,
    we bought the EVM through digikey a couple of weeks ago.
    We want to build a structured light scanner with it. We waited for the camera to arrive and now wanted to start experimentig with it.
    We did not do any modification to the board.
    And no, I have never seen the splash screen.
    I guess the light I have seen was just the black level.
    I wanted to take a picture to send it to you but now it looks different. It shows a random black and white pattern. But still no change, no splash screen, no pattern display and no video through hdmi.

    I have no idea what causes that. We actually had one in our lab start doing that and we don't what causes it at this point. What I recommend is that you start the RMA process with Digikey and get a new Lightcrafter 4500. I'm sorry that you had to experience this difficulty.
