Using LightCrafter 4500 input trigger with promixity switch

Hi,

i want to trigger the LightCrafter 4500 externally. As a hardware trigger event, a proximity switch is used. Since such a sensor has 24V i can't go directly onto the LightCrafter. So i build a simple circuit in which the sensor just opens/closes a relay. If the relay is open (proximity switch detects metal), a 3.3V signal is forwarded to pin #2 of LightCrafter Trigger Input (J11).

When i get the documentation right, the trigger input pin #1 of J11 supplies 3.3V. So my idea was to use pin #1 as the source of 3.3V and forward it to pin #2 if the relay opens.

However, this does not seem to work. Can I use the output voltage of pin #1 to trigger pin #2?

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,

Michael
