Hi Paul,

I have downloaded the Firmware which is included in the link you have sent to me. But when I tried to browse it in the Firmware Interface, the GUI Shows " Not a valid Firmware, Error Invalid command number: 0x1A42

I've seen that error before and it usually means you're using the wrong GUI. Can you download the correct version of the GUI? Please use v3.0.0: www.ti.com/dlpc900ref-sw-v300

The GUI I am now using is exactly the one you sent to me. DLPC900REFSW-3.0

Hm, okay. You could try downloading the previous version of the GUI and seeing if that works for loading the GUI to the EVM: www.ti.com/dlpc900ref-sw-v211

How is your system mounted? Sometimes we see the "controller/dmd incompatible" error if the flex cable was bent too sharply and traces got broken.

Can you tell me what the LEDs are doing on top of the board when you turn it on?

From the user's guide, here are the LEDs and their meanings:
D5 – Red fault status LED. When lit indicates a fault has occurred in the controller
D6 – Green Heartbeat LED. When toggling indicates controller is operating.
D8 – 12-V Power LED. When lit indicates external 12-V supply is on.
D9 – PWRGOOD LED. When lit indicates power is normal.

when I turn it on,
D5 is dark
D6 blinks normally
D8 D9 stays bright, I guess that means the power supply is normal

another Thing I have found is that, before when I turned it on, the DMD Screen will be very hot; but now after even 5min the Screen remains cool

The LEDs are all operating as expected. Did you try the older version of the GUI to reload the FW?

As I see, the cable is totally same as before. This problem Shows up suddenly after I connected it with my Computer by a HDMI cable. I am wondering if it has something to do with the program, which I have written in phython to control the DMD.

That very well could be. The fact that the DMD no longer gets warm when the EVM is turned on tells me that the controller and DMD are not communicating and the DMD is not using any power.

I would take a look at section 3.10 here: www.ti.com/.../dlpu028b.pdf
That describes JTAG programming - it allows you to recover any corrupted bootloader and FW on the device. This is the next step I would take, especially if you were using custom code.

I have read this section. That means if I want to solve this Problem, it would be better to purchase the UM232H modul? and then update the bootloader with this modul. But I searched UM232 in your Website but I can not find the relating infomation.

And is there other way to solve this Problem, could you give a suggestion for python that can direct update the bootloader.Btw, What I have written in python for the last step, is that I have changed the power mode to 'Power up for HDMI input' USB 0x1A01. From your experience could this Change cause my Problem

You will need to purchase the UM232H module to do the JTAG process. That is what I would recommend. You can buy it here: www.digikey.com/.../2614628

It doesn't look like that particular command could have caused the issue, but the symptoms make me believe that the FW is corrupt and that a reload should solve the problem.
