About the synchronization between the input video data and display data for DLP4500

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500

Hi,

I have a question about the synchronization between the input video data and display data.
The input data frame rate is 72hz and 24-bit RGB into video port, DLP4500 is set to pattern sequence mode via video port.
So, the VSYNC period is set to 13888us and the pattaern exposure is 130000, The patern Settings, please refer to the GUI image below.

In the case of the above setting, which RGB input data is displayed?
For example, is it as follows?

Or will it be as follows?

Best regards,
H.U

  • Hi H.U,

The correct configuration will be like your second image. While a pattern is displaying, the next 24 bit image is being loaded through the video port into the buffer. When displayed pattern has finished, the next image rotates into the display buffer and the selected bit planes will be projected.

You can project multiple bit planes from a 24 bit image as long as the total exposure of those bit planes is less than the VSYNC period.

    I hope that makes sense,
