Last time I used 'DLP® LightCrafter™ Evaluation Module' for high speed projection.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC410

In early this year, I bought and used DLP Lightcrafter for my individual project which employed high-speed projection.

But there is a limitation of 96 frames for high speed projection.

I wonder is there some advanced projector compared to DLP lightcrafter that allow high speed projection ( over 200~300 frames per second)

I recently saw high speed projector, 'DynaFlash' which employed DLP technologies from Texas Instrument.. Is there any way to find a projector similar with this one?

Thanks

  • Hello Byungju,

The Dynaflash was very specially designed using the DLPC410 high speed controller and proprietary algorithms from Inrevium.

I believe they do sell the projector.  There is no other "off the shelf" projector like it.

For the speeds you are mentioning you may want to look at a LightCrafter6500.  click --> http://www.ti.com/tool/dlplcr6500evm

This EVM does meet the specs you have listed.

  • What is main differences between LightCrafter and LightCrafter6500 or Higher?

and Is there any way to increase the number of frames for "Internal Stored Pattern Sequences" ,which is now 96 frames with high-speed projection?

    Thanks so much

  • Hello again Byungju,

They are very different in architecture from each other.  I should point out that the LightCrafter6500 does not have optics, which you will have to buy from third party or design your own.

The LightCrafter 6500/9000 User's Guide is a very useful resource.  click --> http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu028c/dlpu028c.pdf

Section 1.2 & 1.3 discuss the architecture of the LightCrafter 6500/9000.

Section 3.9.1 discusses the number of patterns (which is variable due to compression).

    I hope this is helpful.
