Few questions

Hi,

I'm working with the development kit to make spatial modulations of laser beams and I have a few questions:

1. When projecting a static image of black and white (no shades), do the mirrors stay in place, or do they jiggle? If the latter, how do I make them static?

2. I read posts about 1:1 pixel - mirror correspondence, but didn't get a clear answer about how can this be done. Switching to HVGA mode is enough?

3. Is there any documentation on replacing the light source?

Hi,

1. The mirrors are not completely still. There is not a way to suspend the mirrors in the Pico Kit.

2. This Input resolution [VGA landscape (640h*480v) cropped to HVGA (not scaled)] option is not available at the kit level.

3. The document describing the light engine is “DLP®Pico Kit Optical Mechanical Information” and it is located on www.dlpdiscovery.com/pico.

1. Not even by directly controlling the DMD? I mean, is this a limitation of the DMD itself?

2. What do you mean by "kit level"?

Jonathan,

1. There is no direct control available for the DMD. The DMD has to be controlled by the digital controller provided.

2. There are certain options that are not accessible on the Pico Development kit that might be possible at the IC level.
