DLP 4100 documentation

I recently got a DLP 4100 .55 starter kit. There was no documentation with it.

Where can I find the appropriate technical manuals for it, as well as the software for it, apparently its on the knowledgebase but I couldn't find it. i have seen the product preview one that is on the website.

Also where is the Explore software available from?

  • NM,

The D4100 documentation is now available on the KnowledeBase. The Explore SW is available under the D4100 tab.

  • Sorry to be a pain but where on the knowledge base? What section should I search? and what keywords should I use?  Also what D4100 tab? There is one from the Products drop down menu, but I saw nothing there. Is it the Design Suppport section tab, as the DPL Discovery link from there did not work.

  • NM,

When you go to the KnowledgeBase, go down to the bottom of the page and click LP Discovery Documentation under Links for DLP catalog. There you will see the DLP Discovery 4100 documentation.

Similaraly, go to DLP Discovery Software under the Links for DLP Catalog, the go to DLP Discovery 4100. There you will find the downloads and documentation on the Explorer software.

  • NM,

Just one more comment regarding the KnowledgeBase. It is not open to the public. If you don't currently have access to it, you will need to get access from one of the Value Added Resellers (VARs) and access it through my.ti.com.

  • I wonder if there are different kind of access types. I kind of access the KnowledgeBase and I might have a Login,

but I cannot see any useful documentation about the Discovery 3000. My reseller couldn't help me neither!

I would need information about the PCB of the Discovery Kit and get general access to other documents on the

    KnowledgeBase.

    Thanks,

    Kamal

  • Hello Kamal,

I will try to assist you a little further.

I have a little confusion.  In the first post in this thread you wrote, "I recently got a DLP 4100 .55 starter kit."   But in this latest post you say, "I cannot see any useful documentation about the Discovery 3000".  Are you looking for Explorer software for the 4100 or the 3000?

    See if this helps.

Assuming you already have access to the KB, when you login to my.ti.com follow this chain [NOTE: please disable any pop-up blockers].

    • Under "Featured Sites" in the lower left corner click on the "Extranets" link.
    • When the new page opens Under "Extranets Available to You"  click on "DLP® KnowledgeBase"
    • A new windows should open with the DLP® KnowledgeBase items.  Near the bottom click on the link "DLP® Discovery™ Software".
    • When the new page opens select the kit link and click on it.  "DLP® Discovery™ 4100 (D4100) Software" for the D4100
    • On the next page read and acknowledge the license agreement.
    • The page that now displays should have the links you are looking for.  Particularly the link called "DLP® Discovery™ Software Installation" will install the Explorer Software.  The other links are an API Programmer's Guide and a GUI User's Guide.  The top section has FPGA Sample code links.

NOTE:  The D3000 does not have Explorer software, only FPGA Sample Code.  This kit has no USB interface and is intended for FPGA developers.

Please let me know if you cannot see these links.  Please be aware that FireFox users have had some issues correctly viewing some pages in the KnowledgeBase.  If possible please try this from Internet Explorer V7 or better.

    Fizix

  • I still can't find the item you said, there's no ""Feature Site"in the KB "http://www-k.ext.ti.com/sc/technical-support/knowledgebase.htm". In this page, noting in the left corner!

And in these colums, I can't find the one contains DLP. I want to find D4100's software.

Is my adress to KB right?

Why these items can't be searched through the keyword!  I think that will be easier.

  • Hi Zhusama,

Please make sure you log-in to http://my.ti.com first.  I just varified the Extranet links on are available.  However, after you select the "Extranets" link under "Featured Sites" as Fizix describes above, you will noticed the wording of the links the in new page the opens has changed a little since Fizix's post in June 2010.

    Click on "DLP Discovery -Documentation".

If the links are not showing up in your browser, please contact the Design House that you purchased the D4100 from to make sure you have the proper access.

    Thanks, Eric
