An extra jumpers in the main board box

We have recently received the DMD Discovery 4000 .7"XGA. In the main board box, we saw an extra jumper which didn't plug in.

We wonder whether this jumper is an extra jumper prepared for when we use both flex cable or it should be plugged into some jumper??

Thanks!!

  • Hello Jinyang,

There are a number of jumpers on the board, so I am not exactly sure what to informatin to provide.

Additionally, we have provided this Techinical Referencd Manual for the D4000 that I believe will describe the function of the jumpers.

  • Hello JRT,

Thanks for your help. I read the manual and carefully checked the main board. Here are my questions:

    (1) I am not sure about what "Jumper position" means. Does "0-1" mean unplug the jumper?  "1-2" and "2-3" mean plug it but in different positions?

    (2) In our board, J2 is full (5 jumpers). J6 is plugged. J5, J8 and J11 are not. Since we are using the .7"XGA DMD, J11 should be OFF (unplugged) so as J8. So, I am thinking J5 should be plugged. So, would you please tell me the usuall status of J5? Or can we just leave it alone?

    Thanks.

  • Hello Jinyang,

    1)  You are correct, position "0-1" means to disconnect the jumper.

    2)  The usual state of J5 is "0-1".  For XGA operation the J11 jumper is not needed.  The jumper that was in the box is probably from J11 which was removed for XGA configuration.
