Device Inquiry

I noticed that 0.7'DMD using in DLP@Discovery3000 kit is labeled as LVDS while 0.7'DMD using in DLP@Discovery4000 kit is labeled as 2*LVDS.

Any difference between those two?

By the way, how many types of DMD do you have? Some of the projectors in the market use DDR DMD while some use LVDS DMD, any difference?

Thank you very much for attention!

  • Thank you for your inquiry Prince Ma.

The LVDS DMDs are designed to operate with a data clock between 100 and 200 MHz.

The 2xLVDS DMDs are designed to operate between with a data clock between 200 and 400 MHz.

The DDR parts are being phased out over time.  DDR does not use differential pairs for data like the LVDS specification.  However, both specifications are double data rate; that is data is transfered on both the rising and falling clock edges.

The three basic DMD types today are DDR, LVDS and 2xLVDS.

    I hope this is helpful.
