DLPC900: Use dlpc900+dlp6500 to design structural light

Part Number: DLPC900

there are some application and design questions  that need your help.

 1. It says in the datasheet that there exists a way to display external input pattern at the rate of up to 360Hz. Does it mean that we can use the Normal Video mode to display more than 50 8-bit grayscale patterns? How does it work? And how can we adjust the pattern timing in R, G and B, so that we can consider the RGB interface as three independent 10-bit interface?

2. The schematic of TI reference design says that because of the impedance mismatch of the flex cable, it requires an RC filtering network included in the DMD LVDS interface. How can we choose a compatible flex cable and the connector for connecting the DLPC900 with the DLP6500? Do you have any recommendation?

3. To achieve the ideal pattern rate, is there anything important in choosing the LEDs?

4. We've found out that the provided software bundle can generate firmware with pre-stored patterns. Is it possible for us to generate a firmware with our own code such that we can do it on, for example, an ARM processor?and how?

5.We use sinusoidal patterns,is there any way to smooth sine waves?

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E community.  We are glad you have reached out to us with your questions.

Several of these questions are a little involved and will take some time to answer properly.  Please allow a little time to gather the information.
