DLPLIGHTCRAFTER: Removing base and Light engine

Part Number: DLPLIGHTCRAFTER

We are designing a setup potentially using a DLP Lightcrafter with the light engine removed. However, the board which the chips are mounted on are a little too large.

Is it possible to remove the base and mount the chipset onto a different base?

  • Hi Jack,

If you are referring to the aluminum base that the boards are mounted on, then yes, simply unscrew the EVM from the base. There is a rigid connector which joins the top and bottom boards as well as a rigid connector holding the optics engine to the pair of PCBs. Without the base, be careful when handling the board as to not damage those connection points.

    Hope that helps,
    Paul
