DLP6500FYE: About specification of DLPLCR 6500 EVM

Part Number: DLP6500FYE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP9000

Hi

I want to operate the mirror according to the external signal.

Is it possible to operate (to start and stop mirror operation) DLPLCR6500EVM by 3.3V TTL?

Your advice is appreciated.

Best regards,

Leonardo

  • Hello Leonardo,

I assume you want to trigger pattern display with en external 3.3V trigger.  This should be achievable, but you also mention stopping mirror operation also.  The EVM comprehends triggering the next pattern to display for a set exposure time (or until the next pattern), but does contemplate stopping the display.

However, you should be able to achieve the same by interleaving all off patterns and triggering the off as the equivalent of "stopping" the display.

Triggering is covered in §1.5 of the DLP9000/DLP6500 EVM User Guide --> http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu028c/dlpu028c.pdf.

  • Hi Fizix,

Thank you very much for your service.

I think DLP 9000 / DLP 6500 can do the action I want to do.

I'm also interested in DIscovery 4100.

Is this function also available for Discovery4100 ?

    We appreciate your continued support.

    Best Regards,

    Leonardo

  • Hello Leonard,

Triggering is different in the Discovery 4100 EVM.

If you use the GUI triggering can be done, but pattern loading speed is quite limited by the USB bandwidth.  If you want faster input and triggering you will need to write your own custom APPS_FPGA code to process input and the GPIO inputs as triggers.
