DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: GUI problems

Hello,

We bought a DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2 recently. But, We have some problems that we hope you can help us to solve.

1. For some reason, My PC show a message when We connect the DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2 to a PC.

2.The DLP LightCrafter Display doesnot show any information about  DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2

    Hello Socstain,

    Welcome to the E2E forums and sorry to hear you're having problems with the EVM.

    1. Are you able to turn on the EVM when you connect to power and turn on the projector? By default the projector will display a splash screen when it is turned on.
    2. I'm not sure what the message you're getting is, it will be helpful if you let me know. But it seems you need to update some drivers on the system. Have you tried that? Can you please uninstall and re-install the GUI after you do the updates and let us know. Makes sure you are using the latest GUI (V5.0) and that you are using the 4710 tool, not the 2010/3010 tool.
    3. Also, I would recommend trying another PC just to verify if it's driver update issues on your PC.

    Hello Sepeedah,

    Thank you for your reply.

    1.I am able to turn on the EVM and turn on the projector. I see a splash screen when it is turned on.

    2.The message indicates that DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2 cannot find its driver program, but themessage doesnot indicate what the driver program is, and how to find it.

    I am sure I am using the latest GUI (V5.0) and 4710 tool, not the 2010/3010 tool.

    3.I have tried anothor PC, but the problem is the same as before.

    Socstain,

    All of the necessary drivers come with the installation files. However, what version of Windows are you using? The current GUI is not supporting Windows 10.

    I use a new PC to install GUI again. The drivers may be OK, but I still donnot get the information on the DPL, even I push the "turn on" button.

    Socstain,

    It's good news that you were able to get the drivers working.

    On the EVM there are 2 ON/OFF switches. First you will need to turn on the slide switch SW28 to power the board.

    After that please use SW21 push button to turn on the projector. At this stage the projector will display the splash screen.

    Now if you click "Get" on the GUI screen the information will update similar to below:

    Please also refer to the EVM User's guide to make sure that you are operating the switches in the correct order.

     I push SW21 button.

    After that, I click "Get" on the GUI screen, but the information still dosenot update, and the GUI screen is shown as before.

    Socstain,

    Please make sure you push SW21 long enough for the projector to turn on and display an image. Below is the typical splash screen that will project when the projector is turned on:

    Can you please verify that the you get the splash screen? If so, when you apply "Get" the GUI information should update as mentioned before.

    Scince I change a power adapter, the DLP can work now.
