DLP7000: Using DLP7000 with IR (1064nm)

Part Number: DLP7000

Hi,

I am looking for a high speed DLP for fast switching of an illumination pattern (used wavelength is 1064nm). I was looking at the DLP7000 as it seems to be the fastest DLP available, but this one can only be purchased with an AR coating for UV or visible light. According to the transmission curves, due to that coating about 40% of the light will be lost (transmissions seems to be between 75% and 80%, depending on the angle of incidence, for one pass through the window). As this is quite a lot (and a lot more than roughly 15% I would expect from an uncoated glass window) I was wondering if there is any possibility of buying a DLP7000 with either no coating or (even better) an IR coating (or if there exist any plans of producing high speed DLPs with an IR coating in the near future).

An alternative solution might be to at least remove the AR coating from the outside-facing surface - does anyone have any experience with that?

Kind regards,

Clemens

  • Hello Clemens,

First, welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E community.

We do not offer a DLP7000 DMD with no window coatings. The only offerings are visible and UV.

Removing the coating from this hermetically sealed part is not trivial, and although in principle it could be done but would void any warranty.
