DLPLCR4500EVM: USB connection issue

Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500

Hi,

I encountered a weird USB connection issue as follow:

One of the three PRO4500 connected to the computer is shown as unknown device in the Device Manager. I unplugged all the USB connection of the projectors that are working fine. I used DLP LightCrafter 4500 Control Software and it failed to connect to the projector being shown as unknown device. I re-plug in the USB connector of the problem projector to the same USB port and the status in the Device Manager changed to USB Composite Device. I used DLP LightCrafter 4500 Control Software and it still failed to connect to the projector. I unplug the USB connection and changed to a different USB port and everything works fine. Again, I unplug the USB connection and changed back to the original USB port and everything works fine.

There are a few questions I hope that you can enlighten me:

1. Under what condition, the PRO4500 will turn into unknown device(I am sure it is working fine previously)?

2. Why after re-plug in to the same USB port and the status already changed to USB Composite Device, but DLP LightCrafter 4500 Control Software still fail to connect to the projector?

3. Why changing USB port once make everything works again?

Please let me know if you need more information.
