DLPLCR4500EVM: How to use pattern sequence mode with external trigger input while data is received from HDMI port?

Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM

Hi all,

I am using the LightCrafter 4500 to display 1 bit-patterns through HDMI in pattern sequence mode, and trying to synchronize to the signal from Arduino pwm signal.

I am streaming patterns through the HDMI port at 60Hz with 24-bit image, displaying 1-bit patterns. My plan is to display each pattern at the rising edge of external trigger input, but i'm not sure as gui doesn't support external trigger input when streaming through hdmi, and vsync will update memory regardless of external trigger input.

My question is,

is it able to use external trigger input to synchronize patterns streaming through hdmi port?

Thanks,

-Lee

  • Hello Lee,
When streaming patterns through the HDMI port the VSYNC signal acts as the external trigger. Therefore, it is not possible to use a separate external trigger. If the number of patterns you are streaming is low enough, you can load the patterns into the flash to enable use with an external trigger.
