DLPLIGHTCRAFTER: HDMI external streaming pattern sequence

Part Number: DLPLIGHTCRAFTER

Hi,

I am using the Lightcrafter in "stored patterns sequence mode", 1bit 96 patterns, 200us for each pattern, external trigger (positive).

Is there a way to use "HDMI external streaming pattern sequence" in the same way? Can it be synchronized with the trigger?  It seems it is projecting simply the same images just at high speed, is there a way to control which pattern is displayed?

Thanks!

  • Hello Marin,

The "HDMI External Streaming Pattern Sequence" will allow you to change the frame rate to 15, 30, 40, or 60Hz. Therefore, in essence, your input trigger will be determined by the input video (ie. you can't use an external input trigger). Additionally, you can pack multiple images into each frame and display them with different bit depths. By passing in the different images you control which pattern is displayed.

The maximum pattern rate you could achieve with this external streaming would be a 1 bit color depth and 60Hz frame rate and 24 patterns per frame. This would enable a 1440 Hz pattern rate (~694us per pattern). Unfortunately you won't be able to achieve the same 200us per pattern you are currently getting using internal pattern streaming mode.

Let me know if you have further questions or need clarification!

    Thanks,
    Kyle
