DLP4500: DMD maximum temperature

Hi,

Let me talk about maximum temperature of DMD.

My customer planning to use DLP for 50/50 of duty cycle.
DMD temperature is described in section 6.4 Recommended Operating Conditions of Datasheet.
It mention that maximum is 65°C.

But Figure1 mention that DMD max temperature recommended is 70°C when duty is 50/50.

In this case, Which max temperature shoud we believe ? 65? or 70?
I guess 70°C is correct. This understanding is correct?

    Hello Hiroyasu,

    Thanks for your interest in our DLP products.

    Keep in mind that the chart in Figure 1 (the derating curve) describes maximum operating conditions in a more general scope, while the statistic in section 6.4 describes the recommended maximum temperature in long-term operation. This long term specification is given at 65 degrees Celsius.

    For the time being we recommend that you not exceed 65 degrees Celsius in operation whenever possible. We will notify you in due course if this changes.
