DLP6500FYE: DLP6500 use for medical equipment class III

Hello,

One of our customer is considering to use DLP6500 as medical equipment class III.
Do you have any restriction to use it?
Or I would appreciate if you have any materials for using medial equipment class III.

    Hello, RY. We currently do not have any DLP chips approved for critical (Class 3) medical usage. However, you will see "medical" referenced as a potential application category for DLP Products in the datasheets. Typical medical applications using DLP Products might be imaging such as confocal microscopy applications or phototherapy applications.

    May our customer proceed the DLP6500 development for medical use class 3 ?

    Hi, RY.  I apologize that my answer may have been unclear. I was explaining examples of some current (non-critical) medical uses for DLP Products, but I did not intend to communicate there would be any datasheet changes coming.  Instead, DLP Products are shipped under TI's standard terms and conditions.  See Section 9.5 which states that standard TI products are not to be used for life critical medical equipment such as those rated as class III medical devices.
