Hello,

I have a brief question about common DLP LEDs. Does their PWM (RGB cycle) frequency automatically change according to the selected video frame/refresh rate? I wonder how this works for DLP LED projectors in general. Let's say the LED RGB cycle is 240Hz which is divisible by 60Hz, what happens if the video signal is 50Hz?

    Thanks for your interest in our DLP technology,

    In general, the RGB frequency does scale with the framerate of the system. However, each LED pulse (for R,G,B) may be broken up within a frame into multiple segments for display purposes. That is to say, a user cannot expect the LEDs to behave in a particular way when using one of our DLP Pico Display products outside of accurately rendering the output image.

    In order to have a tight level of control over the LED behavior, it is recommended to instead use one of our DLP Pico Sensing products, such as the LightCrafter 4500. (www.ti.com/.../DLPLCR4500EVM)

    I just wanted to be sure that display's native refresh rate and video frame rate will always be in sync.
