DLP7000: Pattern Rate for DLP7000

In the page of DLP high speed visible products, it says that the 8-bit pattern rate for DLP7000 could be up to 1900 Hz. While the specs of evaluation kits from Wintech and ViLUAX show that the max pattern rate for 8-bit is ~ 300 Hz, which is much slower than 1900 Hz.

So just wondering, any vendor provides DLP evaluation kit available for a high patter rate, i.e., 1000 Hz for 8-bit grayscale, or there is technical challenge for high patter rate?

Hello Panda,

This is the maximum possible 8-bit gray-scale rate using modulated illumination (i.e. LED or Laser) but comes at a hefty dark time penalty. At 1900 Hz you will have about 75% frame dark time. This is why their offerings are ~300 Hz.

You may want to look at the DLPLCR6500EVM and the specs for it. (click on the link to the left).

If you are needing the speed and can use fast LED's or Lasers, then you can purchase a DLPD4X00KIT and write your own code to load in to the APPS_FPGA, then you can reach these speeds.
