DLPC350: DMD interface traces

Part Number: DLPC350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500NIR,

I am developing a board with DLPC350 to use a DLP4500NIR. According to DLPC350 datasheet, DMD interface traces should follow specifications of Table 19 (page 48). Table 21(page 49) provides the DLPC package output delay at the package ball. Total trace length includes packages skews, PCB length, and DMD flex cable length. How can I follow table 19 specifications instead some signal package skew is higher than recommendations. I don't know if I understand Table 21 values properly.

  • Lucas,

Thanks for your interest in our DLP products, and welcome to the E2E forums.

It sounds like you are having some trouble with our PCB design recommendations. However, I'm having trouble understanding your question. Are you having difficulty meeting our recommended specifications in your design?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Philippe,

    Thanks for your time.

I do not understand the values presented in Table 21.

Like I said, the total length of DMD interface traces is composed by package skews, PCB traces and flex cable.

My doubt is if I consider package skews presented in Table 21, I am not able to follow recommendations in table 19 because some traces have a high package skew, like DMD_D0 (152,35 mm) and other have a short.

If I routing all traces matching with DMD_DCLK, some traces length will be over the recommendation in table 19.

    Is that a problem?

  • Lucas,

    Thanks for your patience.

The values represented in Table 21 apply to the PCB routing only, and do not apply to internal package routing.
