DLP3000: DLP3000 Export restrictions

Part Number: DLP3000

How can I learn about export restrictions of DLP3000 used in a product to certain countries?

Thank you.

Cem

  • Cem,

I have sent you a friend request on E2E so that we can discuss further.

    Best Regards,
    Philippe Dollo
  • Hello Philippe,

Thank you for accepting to help me. We use your DLP3000 based LightCrafter in our 3D scanning device which is sold to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. So we were wondering if TI has export restrictions of this product to exports to Russia? What are the ECCN and Harmonized Tariff number for this product? Is it controlled for export under US Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or not? Does it require an export license? I will be grateful if you could supply me information on these issues. Thank you.
  • Hello Cem,

Thank you for asking us for clarification and considering our product.

As you are referring to the LightCrafter EVM, we wanted to point out our terms of conditions at the link below specially listing that EVM is for engineering evaluation and not for final products.
    www.ti.com/.../termsofuse_store.shtml

1.1 EVMs are intended solely for product or software developers for use in a research and development setting to facilitate feasibility evaluation, experimentation, or scientific analysis of TI semiconductor products. EVMs have no direct function and are not finished products. EVMs will not be directly or indirectly assembled as a part or subassembly in any finished product. For clarification, any software or software tools provided with the EVM ("Software") will not be subject to the terms set forth herein but rather will be subject to the applicable terms that accompany such Software.

You indicate below that you are using the EVM in a final 3D scanner product. That model is not recommended by us. We have several partners that make production ready optical modules and we will be happy to give you more pointers on that. You can also find this list of partners at:
    www.ti.com/.../buy-optical-engine.html

Hope this helps and thanks again for your inquiry.
