Using of DMD for 150-250nm

Hi!

I'm intresting in using of DMD systems for UV projection. Is it possible to built the system which output signal range was 150-300nm?

  • Hello Dmitry,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E forums.

This wavelength range is outside of the specifications for any of our UV DMD's. Anything below 365 is outside of the specification. Moreover, the window material approaches being completely opaque below 300 nm.

I hope this information clarifies things.

  • Thanks a lot for quick response! Can DMD damadged in case of lamp changing from visible range to UVC?  It is possible to build DLP system with UVC light source and which parts of optical system (Fig.2) possible to be replaced?

  • Hello again Dmitry,

The fundamental problem is the window on the DMD.  It is essentially opaque in the UVC, therefore no amount of changes of optical elements will change the fact the the glass of the window is blocking UVC light.
