DLP4500: Command of Download Data

Hi,

Let me talk about command of DLPC350.

I undersatand 2 bytes of length should be add before transmission data.
Because it is described in Table A-9 in DLPC350 Programmer’s Guide　User's Guide.

But In the sample code for LightCrafter GUI tool, Lengths are not added.

Which is correct ?
Do We should remove these 2 length??

Hiroyasu,

The LightCrafter GUI tool may implement the command incorrectly as specified in the programmer's guide due to the code being outdated. I recommend you try both methods and, if necessary, update the source code in the LightCrafter GUI with your preferred implementation.

Actually My customer can not update.

We try to use both adding 2 length and no length.

But we can not success to update both.

Hiroyasu,
You mentioned it as LightCrafter GUI let me make sure are you referring to LightCrafter or LightCrafter 4500, from the forum, for the LightCrafter 4500 case both USB and I2C interface use 0x25 command to set the download data size. So this command must be set before any data download.

Let me have a double check.

Length LSB/MSB are descirbed in Table A-9 of DLPC350 Programmers guide.

and USB command include LSB/MSB is described in Figure 1-3 of same manual.

So my question whether Length of Table A-9 is nessesarry or not.

You answer Length of Table A-9 is nessesarry.
But it is error from checksum, if this length is include.
(it is no error from checksum, if this length is not include)

I think there is confusion.
0x25 is command for sending the payload data, here byte0 and byte1 will indicate how much data is provided in the command packet. This is NOT the entire download size.
Now the total amount of data to be downloaded is provided via 0x2C.

For example: Need to download 16 bytes in total.
Reg[0x2C] = 0x10 //16 bytes to be downloaded
Reg[0x25] = 0x04 0x00 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX //0x04 0x00 - number of bytes in the packet for download
Reg[0x25] = 0x04 0x00 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX
Reg[0x25] = 0x04 0x00 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX
Reg[0x25] = 0x04 0x00 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX 0xXX
