DLP9000X: Active array dimension specification and CAD model mismatch

Hello,

DMD Active array dimensions given in datasheet 19.354 x 12.096 (W x H) (7.11 Micromirror Array Physical Caracteristics) from http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/dlp9000.pdf do not match with the ones in CAD file (19.15 x 14.36) as seen in Figure 1. I have concernes whether the given model is fully correct, because it can affect the precision/design of products. What is the solution for this problem?

I have verified that the active array size listed in the data sheet is correct.

Which CAD file are you referring to?

If the first one, the drawing may be for the DLP9500 since it is a mounting concept. You will need to change some values to match the information at the end of the DLP9000 data sheet which is also correct.

I am referring to http://www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?baseLiteratureNumber=dlpr014&fileType=zip this CAD file which didn't match with its active array dimensions in datasheet(http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/dlp9000x.pdf).

So you're saying that I must edit the CAD files' active array to match with the datasheet, because originally it is for the DLP9500, and just for mounting purposes? If this is the case then it might be misleading and confusing for the designers, that can affect overall performance and precision of sytems.The model must fully represent the real part and should be replaced, since active array is one of the most important parts of the device.

Your are correct, that we should put a note beside the file that it is based on the DLP9500 model. The outside package dimensions are the same, but the active array is not the same. The pdf does not show the position of the array. I do not have a step file viewer. I will have our mechanical team check it, but I suspect the DMD in the step file is the DLP9500 DMD since it predated the DLP9000.
