Linux/DLPDLCR3010EVM: dlp3010 can't work with Vbais fall down

in my system, we use dlpc3438, dlpa2000 and dmd  DLP3010FQK.

but i found some of dmd is damaged withing dlpa supply's Vbias is drop down, and the RESETZ always fall down with period about 300ms

pls give me the right way to avoid it, thks.

    It looks like your RESETZ is falling down every 300ms time, which is not a valid case.

    Today is holiday here in states. I will look in to this and get back to you very soon.

    i think my system(dlpc and dlpa) is work ok, they can work good with the not damaged dmd.

    but after about few minutes or power down and power on, the good dmd will be damaged withing the Vbias and the RESETZ fall down cyclically.

    then i use the "damaged" dmd replaced to the  DLPDLCR3010EVM' dmd. the demo board can't work also.

    and if we find out a new good dmd again, our system can be work ok again.

    so,i think something result to damage the dmd, or the dmd is to weak.

  • i have send my design to you.
    in my design,
    01- the dlpc3438's vcc_flsh and vcc_intf is always on and not controlled by the proj_on.
    02- the R541 is only reserved into fpga for my design, and not effected the si of HS sub-lvds,
    as your know, my system can work ok with the (FPC+DMD) of demo board.
    and i think my issue is same to the question in the E2E:
    e2e.ti.com/.../430809
    and i think his dmd is damaged also.

    Thanks for seeing this related thread for yourself and i hope you already tried the things mention in that thread also. If not, please do try that once. In the mean time we will review your schematic. Please have a patience it will take few days to review.

    You mentioned "my system can work ok with the (FPC+DMD) of demo board." Can you please explain which demo borad ? Are you referring to the EVM. Please share the details for working system.

    we use the DLPDLCR3010EVM's fpc and dmd to test.
    1. first time,we use the DLPDLCR3010EVM have a test, it's can work ok, but we measure the Vbias is not 18v, it's 15v.
    2. then, we move the demo board's dmd to my system,it's can't work ok.
    3. after some times, then, we move the dmd back to the demo board, it's can't work also.
    4. then, we have a new dmd , it's can't work ok in my system or demo board.
    5. then we have another new dmd, it's can work ok in demo board and my system.
    but after few minutes, or power down and on,it's can't work ok also in my system or demo board.
    so we think my image have some bug or the dmd is too weak.
    may i send back the "bad" dmd to ti shanghai office and pls your colleagues to test it ?

    i have to tell you, in the same time, i have another image from kevin-shi<kevin-shi@ti.com> ,
    the image-option2 can be worked ok. so i do the test all using the image.
    in the other hand, i have have the new test using your image,it's same problem.

  • i think my system the fpc connect is ok. because:

    1. my system can get a correct projection with the good dmd.

    2. when we use the image to boot my system, dlpa can't brow up the Vbias if the connection is bad with dmd.

    3. it's has the same issue if my system use the demo board's connector,fpc,and the bad dmd.

    4. the demo board can't work ok , if we replace the bad dmd to the sets.and the Vbias and resetz are also follow down cyclically.

    it's can't find out the 3.3v fall down when the Vbias is fall down.

    and i replace the B68 form 10uH 200mA to 10uH 350mA, the issue is still in my system.

     

  • I have not checked your full design but i have seen that in your design you have connected RESETZ to strong Pull down. ReDesign that line and connect RESETZ to pull up.

    I hope this will resolve your issue.
