DLPLCR4500EVM: Programming mode

Is there any way to manually switch LC4500 evaluation board to programming mode, after last unsuccessful firmware upload and reboot we can't connect now.

only D3 LED is lit (HDMI signal) what could it be?

Nik,

Which firmware did you attempt to flash to your system? Did you unplug the system mid-programming, or did there appear to be a software malfunction?

Nik,

After some investigation, it appears that there is a USB HID device driver issue appearing with this system on Windows 10. I recommend you try reprogramming your firmware using Windows 7 to fix this issue until we implement a workaround.

Unfortunately that does not helped. Tried Win7 and Linux can't be detected via USB.

When I programmed I skip bootloader, so may be I can manually switch DLPLCR4500EVM to bootloader mode and reprogram?

Hi Nik,

Install jumper at J18 and see you are able to communicate with the hardware, if so you can program full image in this mode, once successful program you can remove jumper.

If it doesn't detect even after J18 installation then the only other way is to Jtag flash as described here http://www.ti.com/dlp-lightcrafter4500-jtag-flash

With a J18 I've been able to see projector in lsusb output:

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 0451:6401 Texas Instruments, Inc.

but DLP LightCrafter 4500 still can't connect, does it means bootloader corrupted?

Hi Nik,
Bootloader is okay, that is the reason you are able to detect the device on the lsusb. You mentioned it cannot connect... are you referring to the LightCrafter 4500 GUI? If the Green status in the GUI lit, then you can simply go to firmware page and you should be re-download the full firmware image.

Ok, I've been able to flash it with Windows7 machine, but I still have XX.XX.XX as a Firmware Version and Tag.

Hi,
On Windows 10 there is bug in the GUI code that is preventing the device from reconnecting; please refer to thread and you will have to make the changes in the GUI software and recompile to get it working, otherwise you can use Windows 7.
