Linux/DLP6500FYE: How to Control DMD in Linux via usb port and update th patterns

Part Number: DLP6500FYE

Tool/software: Linux

HI

1、I use an embedded board to control the structure of the light, so i need to recompile the USB code to dmd enumerate (Plan to use TI's  open source code), can you give me some advice or tips?

2、I need to constantly update the pictures(8 Bits) saved in the DPLC900. Is there a better way besides the current ,download with the firmware package?(too slow and complex)

Byron

  • Hello Byron,

    1.  TI has not tried porting the code to Linux so there is no advice available on enumerating the controller.

    2.  Have you tried using Video pattern mode and using a program that will pack 3 8-bit images into an RGB-888 video frame.  This would give a 1 frame delay (3 8-bit pattern delay) but would still be much faster than downloading the firmware package or pattern on the fly.
