DLPLIGHTCRAFTER: Controlling the bottom board of DLP lightcrafter with another controller

Hello TI,

I have an issue similar to My board is not detected by the PC (windows XP/8/10). When power is applied (via the recommended AC adapter), an LED on the top board blinks red, and an LED on the lower board blinks red/green. When I remove the top board, the bottom board seems to work OK. Is there any way to control the bottom board using Arduino/MSP development boards? I need to disply only binary (ON/OFF) patterns on the DMD.

Also, my DLP Lightcrafter does not have the light engine (it was removed by a previous user) and I don't need it for my application.

Varun,

If the light engine is not attached, you may experience problems in booting the system. Our DLP LightCrafter EVMs expect all LEDs (and the DMD) to be installed on power-up. Without them, the system may encounter a fail state and refuse to boot.

Please try booting up the system as originally configured (complete with optical engine).
