DLPLCR9000EVM: what does "pixel accuracy" means

Part Number: DLPLCR9000EVM

Hi,

I want to know what does "pixel accuracy" means in DLP LightCrafter 6500 and 9000 EVM User's Guide (Page 27,  1. Video Mode)

does it mean if I use Video Mode then some pixel won't display correctly?

Sry for my bad English..

thank you.

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the TI-E2E forums and to the DLP section of the forums.

"Pixel Accurate" means that you have control of when a pixel is turned on or off.  This makes possible measurement systems that require predictable switching of the micro-mirrors.

Video mode uses processing that divides up the incoming video color information into a pulse width modulation (PWM) sequence to achieve the RGB colors. Video processing is very robust and uses many tools (such as temporospatial dithering) to create an image for human eye consumption, but makes it difficult to predict exactly when a given pixel may be on or off.

  • Hi Fizix,
    Thanks for the reply :)

If I understand u correctly,it won't be a problem if I use it with black/white images only right?
I think if I do so then PWM duty will be something like 0%/100% so each pixel won't toggle on/off during a single frame (or maybe something like 0.01%/99.9% ?)

(I'm planning to use this in black/white images only around 30FPS)

    thank you.
