DLPLIGHTCRAFTER: Random brightness drop in stored pattern sequence mode

Part Number: DLPLIGHTCRAFTER

Hello,

I am using the stored pattern sequence mode to display 10 patterns, 1 bit depth, 500ms exposure each. In the images taken, some appear noticeably darker than others. I tested the lightcrafter using a spectrometer, and the data showed that the brightness could drop randomly.

What could be the cause of it? Is there a way to avoid?

Thank you!

Quinn

  • Quinn,

Which LEDs are you using in this system? Are you using the same LED in each pattern? If so, have you tried using a different LED with similar results?

Let me know. Thanks for your attention.

  • Hi Philippe,

I am using blue LEDs for each pattern. I have not tried using different LEDs because the experiment requires blue light.

    Thanks!

  • Yiqun,

The intensity differential seems to be different on this plot, but the flat intensity does not appear to be changing. Is there a visual artifact associated with what you are seeing? If not, I don't believe you should have anything to worry about.

Otherwise, I recommend you try increasing your exposure period and toggling the suspect pattern in repeat. In addition, you should characterize the behavior with all three LEDs to evaluate whether there is an issue with the sequence, or the blue LED. If the blue LED is the only one exhibiting this behavior, you may have a damaged LED and need to replace it.

    I hope this helps.
