DLP4500NIR: DLP4500NIR alone with development kit

Part Number: DLP4500NIR
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500

I need to buy DLP4500NIR with its development kit but TI is selling its development kit in the form of spectrometer.

Could TI provide the DLP4500NIR ready to use development kit without any optics and light source?

  • Gyanendra,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a DLP4500NIR EVM without optics for purchase. If you want to design a system using the DLP4500 NIR chipset with your own optical solution, I recommend starting from our reference design and working from there:

I apologize for the inconvenience. Best of luck!

  • Hi Philippe

    Thanks for your reply.

It's fine that you can't provide it without optics but could you customise the visible coating of DMD to NIR coating?

Basically i need the development kit for DMD that can work in NIR region but other DMD's are optimise for visible region only. If you can customise the DLP mirror coating that can be assemble in DLP4100 development kit then it will also work for me.

    Thanks & regards

  • Gyanendra,

Unfortunately, I do not believe it is possible to swap the DLP4500 DMD to have NIR coating. Really, such a thing already exists in the form of the DLP4500NIR DMD, which features a similar form factor but is rated for NIR (with the correct coating):
    www.ti.com/.../DLPNIRSCANEVM

The closest you can get to what you want is probably the NIRscan EVM, which features the 4500NIR device. Otherwise, you may need to design your own system (by copying the reference design) if you don't want to get the EVM as-is.

    I hope this helps.
