DLPLCR6500EVM: Swirthing remotely from video to pattern on the fly mode

My application requires both running the 6500 EVM in video mode (from an HDMI source) and over the USB port in pattern on the fly mode, where I project an image from the computer memory. Is it possible to switch modes via an external command? What is the expected execution time in switching modes?

Hi Jim,

If I understand correctly, I think you are looking for section 2.4.1 Display Mode Selection in the DLPC900 Programmers Guide linked below:

This will allow you to change display modes via USB/I2C and there are some examples in section 5 if you are unsure how to implement the commands. I am not sure of the execution time, I will try and do some digging but it should be similar to what you are experiencing with the GUI.
