DLP dynamic contrast?

There is surprisngly no search result for this. I believe it is possible via the DLP controller chip by dimming the whole LED when frame is dim, but it may also be possible by taking advantage of the +- tilt of the micromirrors. But I can't find info on both.

Also, will the former (DLP Controller doing the dynamic contrast) introduce any latency to the system?
