ADC with +/-5V analog input rage with parallel interface

Welcome to our e2e forum! How many input channels do you need? Is the parallel interface a 'must have'?

We need a single channel ADC and yeah parallel interface is must needed. If any parts which is having more than 1 and less than 5 channels we can think about that. I found a part ADS8661IPWR with serial interface, but we kept it as a second option, also can we get information on lifecycle status of ADS8661IPWR, how long TI going to support this part.

Hi Adarsh,

The ADS8661 is a nice part! I'm having trouble finding bi-polar parallel parts with the speed you need, if you can go down ~800ksps, the ADS8558 might work out for you. Can you work with attenuation ahead of the ADC? If so, perhaps you can use the INA159 to reduce your +/-5V input which opens up more possibilities on the parallel interface side of things.

We have input which can vary from -5V to +5V, let me check in our circuit on what could be the possible changes if we go with attenuation. Meanwhile may i know how long ADS8661 will be in market,i mean to become obsolete.
