Hello
We are trying to use the DLP 1100 with a laser, so my question: how much the maximum power wich we can use it with of DLP?
we are using a femptosecond laser (power 2 w, 1cm size),

Hello Ridha,
It very good to hear from you again. Let me ask a couple of questions so I make sure that I understand your system correctly.

Hello, thak you for replying
we use a femto second laser, if it is not femto the power is about 2w peak, but if it is femto, this power is averaged.
so my question if my laser is CW ( single frequency @ 770nm ), the Discovery 4100 (55 XGA) can work with this power, i'm affraid that can destroy the micromirrors.?
yes it is a gaussian beam, diameter =1cm.
Thank you very much
Ridha
Ridha,
We have not had any applications at this time using femto second lasers, so it is unclear whether the instantaneous power in the pulse will do damage or not. The DMD can certianly handle a continuous load of 2W/cm2, but I do not know what will happen if too much energy is delivered in a very short period of time (i.e. femtoseconds).
If 2W is the average power during femto second pulsed operation, what is the repetition rate during pulsed operation? Do you also know the pulse duration?
