DLPNIRNANOEVM: NIRscan Embedded Flash Screen Not Appearing

Part Number: DLPNIRNANOEVM

Hi,

I am facing some problem connecting the DLP NIRscan machine with my PC. So, I checked the user guide and it says that after inserting the power supply and connecting a MIni-USB cable from my computer to the DLP NIRscan machine, I have to migrate to URL http://192.168.0.10. I did all these but I am not seeing any splash screen to appear. What should I do?

Regards,

Sumaiya Shomaji

  • Sumaiya,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

What operating system are you running? Can you share your system configuration with us please?

    Best Regards,
    Philippe Dollo
  • Hi Sumaiya,

Can you confirm your Part number and the OS you are using? You have mentioned DLPNIRNANOEVM in the Part Number but on the post itself you have written DLP NIRScan EVM. Now, assuming you have DLPNIRScan EVM with a Windows OS,

Kindly open up Device Manager and check if the NIRScan EVM shows up as "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" on the device list.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Hirak.
  •  Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Here are the info:

    part number: DLP NIRScan EVM

I have tried connecting it to two different system (my lab PC and personal laptop). Here are the details:

System 1 (my lab PC): Windows 10, 64-bit operating system,  Intel core i7

System 2 (my laptop): Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit operating system,  Intel core i5

And by the way, I could not find RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget in the device list. I think, windows 10 doesn't support that/ Not sure though.

Please help me suggesting what to do next.

  • Update:

    It is working now!

  • Hi Sumaiya,

Glad to hear that your problem is resolved. USB-RNDIS drivers are not by default installed on Windows 10 PCs. You can go through the following steps to install them manually:

    1. Download RNDIS drivers from this link [http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=USB%20RNDIS%20Gadget] (5^th^ Entry from top/bottom)

    2. Extract the contents of .cab file to a folder.

    3. Connect the NIRScan EVM to PC, Open Device manager. The device should show up as COM device.
    4. Right Click the Device and select “Update Drivers”
    5. Select “Browse My Computer For Device Software”
    6. Point to the folder you extracted the contents of the .cab file in step 2.

    7. Click “Next” to install the new drivers.

After the drivers have been installed, the NIRScan EVM should now show up as “USB Ethernet/RNDIS Device” and should now work as expected.

Thank you for using TI E2E forum, have a nice day!

    Regards,
    Hirak.
