DLPC3470: Problem Starting Up Device (HOST_IRQ will not go LOW)

Part Number: DLPC3470
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2010

Hey,

I have a problem, HOST_IRQ is always high and there is no default projection. The Kit I have: DLP2010 EVM - LC pico series. The previous day, Using GUI I was flashing my required patterns and it worked well but now it doesn't turn on itself.

Please help. There is power on display board and all cables and connectors are proper, but only problem is in initialization because of which I am unable to use the kit.

  • Hi Shravani,

    Welcome to E2E.

Barring any hardware changes/damages, the most common reason for HOST_IRQ not going low is a corrupted flash image. If you were programming pattern data to flash, it's possible that a connection interruption resulted in the flash memory getting corrupted. Please try flashing the firmware image available on the DLP2010EVM-LC product page on ti.com. You can use the Update Firmware option in GUI for this purpose.

Please note you will have to reprogram pattern data after downloading the new firmware.

  • Hi Azad,
Can you tell me how much time will it take in updating the firmware? Since 20 mins it is in Step 1/3: erasing flash data.
  • Hello Shravani,

Could you please confirm you are using the latest GUI v1.1.0.7? Also please confirm what operating system you are using. On my 64-bit Windows 10 OS I just confirmed it only took around 15 seconds to erase the firmware and 2.5 minutes to update it. Obviously your results may vary, but 20 minutes for erasing sounds much longer than expected.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Hi Kyle,

Since the firmware is corrupted, flash erase would take longer. Also, Shravani was able to use a USB 3.0 port to download the firmware much faster.
