Linux/DLPDLCR2000EVM: How to use DLP lightcrafter 2000 EVM to project beaglebone desktop?

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM

Tool/software: Linux

Hello, guys,

I got a beaglebone black revC and DLP lightcrafter 2000EVM. Now both of them work very well, I can use beaglebone black to control DLP lightcrafter to power up/down, display splash etc.

But my problem is : I want to use the DLP lightcrafter 2000EVM to display beaglebone's desktop, just as use a monitor.

And I don't know how to configure DLP lightcrafter 2000 EVM? could anyone give me some advice? Thank you.

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

Using the EVM as a "desktop monitor" is very possible, and is actually documented in our User's Guide for the DLPDLCR2000EVM. In particular, I'd like to direct your attention to section 4 of the User's Guide:
    www.ti.com/.../dlpu049c.pdf

This will explain the I2C commands you should use to configure the EVM for external video display mode. Note that you need to have the EVM installed to the BeagleBone Black as a cape, and the appropriate EVM drivers need to be installed to the Debian distro. You can find more information on which Debian distro you need here:
    e2e.ti.com/.../615806

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Philippe Dollo
