DLPLCR6500EVM: DLPC900 Pattern Handling

Part Number: DLPLCR6500EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC900

Hello,

I am using the DLP6500 Evaluation Module for rapid random binary pattern display. I understood that the DLP Flash memory can store up to 400 24-bit patterns for Pattern on-the-fly mode without using the RLE compression.

Since I am using random patterns, the RLE compression is not very efficient for the data transfer in my case. I intend to use only binary BW patterns, so my question is, would there be any possibility to reduce the pattern bit depth so the upload time would decrease and the Flash pattern capacity would increase?

I wasn't able to find the solution in the DLPC900 Programmers Guide. I believe the solution could be in altering the DLPC900 firmware somehow? I am not very skilled in programming so any simpler solution would be much apreciated.

Thank you,

Ondrej
