DLP4500: the signal LED_VOUT of the DLP4500 reference design

Hi,

What is the function of the signal LED_VOUT at the DLP4500 reference design. I think that DLPC350 checks the voltage of LED_VOUT, and when it is bigger or less than a specific level, the DLPC350 stops the light engine to protect it.

But it does not look like this. When I connect LED_VOUT to GND and P3P3V, the light engine still works.

I want to monitor the temperature inside the light engine by a thermistor. Can I use the signal LED_VOUT? What is the function of the signal LED_VOUT? How to use it?
