DLP4710: 120Hz at 1080p?

Part Number: DLP4710
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3439, DLPC3437

Do I have the correct info that DLP4710 can be driven at 120Hz at 1920x1080 frames with the new DLPC6421?

if so, is one DLPC6421 needed for DLP4710? Doesn't seem to be much info on this.

  • Hello Mike,

The DLP4710 is intended to be driven with the DLPC3437 or DLPC3439. The DLPC6421 is used with the DLP470TP. Could you clarify where you heard that the DLP4710 can be driven with the DLPC6421. To my knowledge this is not possible.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • I'll try to find the thread from few months ago which mentions it would be possible to drive DLP4710 at 120Hz at full resolution.

    EDIT: here:

  • Hi Mike,

I saw the thread you are referring, i am sorry if i created a confusion for you.

In your question (referred from attached thread ) : Are there any plans for a controller chip which will be able to handle those resolutions?

I was referring to new controller chip DLPC6421 but "not with DLP4710".

    DLPC6421 is intended for DLP470TP.

For your second query (in this thread): Two DLPC6421 controller is required for DLP470TP DMD.

I hope this clears your query.

    Thanks,
    Navneet
