DLP4500: broken mini HDMI

The mini HDMI port on the DLP4500 Lightcrafter is broken, is there a way to repair it? Can I substitute it with a new one? or is it possible to buy only the board rather than the entire DLP4500Lightcrafter?

Hello Giacomo,

If you didn't accidentally rip off any of the PCB traces you could resolder the HDMI connector. You could also purchase a new HDMI port if needed which could be found in the BOM at www.ti.com/.../dlp4500-c350ref. Unfortunately we do not sell just the board.

Thanks Kyle. Is there some assistance for repairing or should I solder it alone?

Or does exist any board that i can add to the dmd to reimplement the hdmi port?

Hello Giacomo,

You could upload a picture of the damaged portion if you would like and I can give you my thoughts. Otherwise you could use a different input to the DMD (such as internal pattern mode). You could also potentially use some of the headers for input but this is not as easy as HDMI input is.
